Hi everyone! Want to know how to increase stitches in a round piece so it stays smooth, round, and free of sharp corners? Check out this simple trick!
X: sc(single crochet) V: 2 sc into the same stitch
| Before | After |
| R1: Magic Ring 6X | R1: Magic Ring 6X |
| R2: 6V | R2: 6V |
| R3: 6 (X, V) | R3: 6 (X, V) |
| R4: 6 (2X, V) | R4: 6 (V, 2X) |
| R5: 6 (3X, V) | R5: 6 (3X, V) |
| R6: 6 (4X, V) | R6: 6 (2X, V, 2X) |
| R7: 6 (5X, V) | R7: 6 (5X, V) |
| R8: 6 (6X, V) | R8: 6 (3X, V, 3X) |
| R9: 6 (7X, V) | R9: 6 (7X, V) |
| R10: 6 (8X, V) | R10: 6 (4X, V, 4X) |

As you can see from the before example, the sharp corners are caused by the increases in each round.
To make a smooth, even circle, you just need to adjust where you place your increases.
In the after example, I changed the order of the increases starting from Round 4.
From there on, follow this simple pattern:
- Odd-numbered rounds: keep the stitch count unchanged
- Even-numbered rounds: evenly space the single crochets on both sides of each increase
And repeat this way for the following rounds!
