These crocheted barrier beasts from Ne Zha 2: The Demon Child Battles the Sea are truly something special. Their design roots deep in Sanxingdui culture. The big, round eyes and square faces mirror the ancient bronze masks. One with thick eyebrows resembles the gold – masked bronze head, while the other with a curled nose combines features of the bronze vertical – eyed mask and eagle – shaped bell.
Once just ancient symbols, now they’re crocheted protectors. They seem to whisper, “Don’t worry, we’ve got you.” Hug one, and feel that age – old sense of safety, a gentle reminder that protection and tradition are always near.
